Houston Academy Advanced Placement Success – 2024-25
Houston Academy is proud to celebrate an incredible year of achievement in our Advanced Placement (AP) program! Last school year, HA offered 16 AP courses across a variety of disciplines, including:
Calculus AB | Calculus BC | Chemistry | Computer Science A | English Language & Composition | English Literature & Composition | European History | Microeconomics | Music Theory | Physics 1 | Psychology | Spanish Language | Statistics | US Government & Politics | US History | World History: Modern
A total of 120 Upper School students (grades 9–12) took 232 AP exams — and 91% earned a passing score of 3 or higher, meaning 210 exams earned our students college credit. That’s a 10% increase from last year’s pass rate!
The impact: The average cost for a single 3-credit-hour class at a public in-state university is $1,263.99. Based on our students’ results, HA families collectively saved $265,437.90 in future tuition — and that’s a conservative estimate, as many AP scores of 4 or 5 earn credit for two classes, saving even more.
8 of our 16 AP classes had a 100% pass rate!
