Cross Country Starts Out Strong

The 2017 Cross Country team started their season on Thursday Sept 7th at Eastgate park at the Dothan High Tiger Meet. The Varsity Boys team came in 2nd while the Girls Varsity took 45h place. Junior Varsity runner, JC Peacock (7th grader) ran a 13:20 while Caleb Hubbard (8th) ran 13:30 2-mile earning 5th and 6th place in the JV division.

Varsity Boy runner, Gunnar Smith (Freshman) came in 10th with a time of 18:22. Senior, Nicola Voss ran a 24:53 coming in 19th for the lady raiders.

On Saturday, some traveled to Oakville, AL to run the Chickasaw Trail run. HA boys placed 6th In the boy’s small school (1A-3A) division 35 teams participated with 302 boys running.

Gunnar Smith and Carson Daugherty placed 37th and 38th with times of 18:33 and 18:34. Also running Saturday were Chris Tamburin 18:51, Andrew Tamburin 19:28, Luke Thompson 20:03, Peyton Sanders 20:04, and Dalton Mathis 20:49.

Running for the girls were Ainsley Bingham and Isabella Lamb.
