Welcome To Houston Academy!
Founded in 1970, Houston Academy (HA) is southeast Alabama’s premier college preparatory school. HA is the only independent school in the region that focuses on college preparation and global education. Students who come to Houston Academy seek a well-rounded educational experience that includes a strong emphasis on challenging academics, community involvement, athletics, and the arts.
Houston Academy is the unquestioned academic school of choice in the Wiregrass. As an accredited, college preparatory institution with a fifty year proven track record, it is easy to lose sight of the importance of other, significant characteristics of our tight-knit learning community – things like love.
When you think of Houston Academy, you naturally think of a rigorous academic program that has a fifty-plus year proven track record of equipping students to be successful in college and in life. And that certainly tells an important part of the HA story, but it by no means tells the entire story. The entire story is one of a tight-knit learning community - the HA "Family" - executing our academic, athletic, and character program in new or renovated, state-of the-art facilities, and focusing upon kindness and finding the beauty in our world!
Houston Academy Mission Statement:
To seek. To find. To share.
We seek to do our best. We find our greatest potential.
We share what we have discovered.
Houston Academy has been named the “Best Private School in the Wiregrass” by the Dothan Eagle for the third year in a row!
Houston Academy Athletics received this sportsmanship award for being free of fines and ejections during the 2015-16 season in all sports.
