Houston Academy Promotes AJ Howard to Head Baseball Coach
For Release:
Houston Academy is pleased to announce the promotion of AJ Howard as the Raiders next Head Baseball Coach. Coach Howard has been with Houston Academy since January 2013 serving as the varsity assistant coach in baseball which includes being a part of the 2014 and 2023 State Baseball Championships. AJ currently teaches physical education, is an assistant coach with the varsity football team and also serves as the Raiders Strength Coach for all sports.
After the retirement of Coach Kirkland, the position was announced and we received numerous inquiries and applications. After reviewing potential candidates, it was apparent, Coach Howard was the best fit for continuing and building on the “Raider Tradition” in baseball. His experience as a player at Troy University as well as his many years of experience working at Houston Academy solidified his credentials to become the next head baseball coach. His daily presence at the school will enable him to identify, work with, and mentor our baseball players throughout the year. We welcome AJ to his new role and look forward to continued success.
