Lower School Student Life

Houston Academy is an exciting, active place, where students are always involved in a wide variety of activities.

On any given day, you might find Big Brothers and Sisters reading books with their Little Brothers and Sisters or the Lower School Chorus rehearsing the National Anthem in preparation for performing at the Atlanta Braves baseball game. Other days, students might be bringing pennies to school for a community service project or “twisting the night away” at the Accelerated Reader Sock Hop. A special assembly, guest speaker, or author is also a frequent event. In addition, you might observe sixth graders in the Upper School Anatomy Lab learning how to use microscopes. Most every Friday in the fall, students proudly wear their favorite Raider attire, such as football jerseys and cheerleader suits, to show their support for the HA football team. Our days are very busy and include a healthy balance of fun, friendships, and academics.
