Four Make Eagle Scout

Posted: November 1, 2011

On October 27, a ceremony was held at the Dothan Country Club in which four of our seniors from the Houston Academy B.S.A. Troop 116 were inducted into the Eagle Court of Honor. The rank of Eagle is the highest attainable in the Boy Scouts of America. Since its founding in 1910, there have been more than 110 million members but fewer than one in 50 have achieved this award. An Eagle must progress through five ranks, earn 21 merit badges, and complete a leadership service project for the community. The purpose of their training is to instill personal religious values, learn the principles of American government and heritage, and acquire skills to become successful adults. Their lifelong commitment to honor and service is what is meant by the saying, “once an Eagle, always an Eagle.” Congratulations to Luke, James Michael, Jordan, and Jonathan for achieving this honor!
