Our 5K classes recently celebrated their winter unit by going on an ice skating field trip to Montgomery. The day was beautiful, perfect for travel on the Southern Coaches bus, where the students enjoyed eating snacks and watching movies. Many eager parents met them at the ice rink to help put skates on, skate with the children, and attend to their needs. Teachers and parents worked together to ensure a positive experience. They had some falls, but lots of laughter and smiles. It was so much fun that everyone agreed that they wanted to go back again!

After all of the excitement and exercise, they enjoyed a Chick-fil-A lunch at the food court. The students were given a wonderful compliment from a gentleman who eats lunch there daily. He said that they were the most well behaved and responsible group he had seen since he had been eating at the Montgomery Mall Food Court. They were proud to say, “We are from Houston Academy, located in Dothan, Alabama!”
