On Friday, May 4, twenty-two students from Houston Academy competed in a regional math competition in Enterprise against other area schools. The students competed in Division 1, which was comprised of 4A, 5A, and 6A schools from around the area. Awards were given based on individual performance on a test and team performance based upon scores from the individual tests. Houston Academy students won ten of the twelve possible places awarded (1st, 2nd, and 3rd ranging over four subject areas: Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, and Advanced Math.) Our students also won 1st and 2nd place overall in the team division. In addition, eleven of our students received honorable mention ribbons. Congratulations to all of these students on a job well done!
