How to Apply
We are pleased that you have shown an interest in Houston Academy for the education of your child.
This checklist will be helpful in guiding you through the admissions process. It is the responsibility of each applicant’s parent/guardian to ensure that all required information is submitted to the school. The applicant’s file must be complete before it will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee. Please contact me through this form if you have any questions concerning admission, tours, and contracts at Houston Academy.

Testing & School Visit
Applicants must successfully complete and pass Achievement Tests in reading and math and a School Ability Test. Please schedule an appointment to take the admissions test by calling our main office at 334-794-4106.
On testing day, the applicant will complete the required tests with Mrs. Todd and visit in the classroom with his/her current grade. Please send drinks and snacks with your child for break and lunch.
Parents do not stay for the classroom visit.
Mrs. Todd will schedule a conference with the parents to review their child’s test results.
Please submit the required documents and forms to Leanne Todd at 901 Buena Vista Drive, Dothan, AL 36303, or fax them to 334-793-4053. If you have any questions about the application process, contact Mrs. Todd through this form.
The Admissions Committee will review and evaluate the application materials and tests of all applicants. Those who meet the criteria for admission will be offered a contract provided openings are available. Priority will be given to qualified siblings and children of alumni. In situations where there are no openings, qualified applicants’ names will be placed in a waiting pool to be considered for the next opening.
Admission will be offered to applicants in the waiting pool as openings become available. Openings may occur at any time during the year.
Contracts for new applicants will be issued after currently enrolled students have completed the re-enrollment process. You will be notified of openings as they become available.
